Career Change
Thankfully, I am celebrating 10 years being cancer free! However, lasting effecting from surgery and chemo are intensifying with age, and changes need to happen more rapidly. I have felt stuck for several years, and have not made progress figuring out in which direction to pivot. I don't want to waste more time trying to navigate a transition on my own. There are hopefully ten to twelve years left in my work life, and I would like to make the best of them.
I've researched career coaches, and so many of them are focused on helping people climb the ladder, make more money and optimize performance. A few exploratory conversations revealed and they don't really understand my needs at this time. I'd be appreciative of help in finding a coach who understands the many factors in play with my situation.

Cancer and Careers Staff Comment:
Tasja, that’s amazing! At the same time, the long-term effects of cancer can be daunting and feeling stuck when thinking about what to do next is completely normal. Asking for help to get you get started is a smart move.
I've reached out to one of our career coaches to provide their insight given the specific factors at play in your situation. In the meantime, I'm happy to share some resources that may help as you think through next steps.
I hope you find some of the above useful in the meantime. Please don't hesitate to reply with any follow-up questions.
Warmly,
Sissy
