Set the Benchmark. Be Recognized.

The Cancer and Careers Best Companies for Working with Cancer Initiative is a comprehensive program to guide employers in their efforts to support employees facing cancer or another serious illness. The Initiative offers employers customized and proprietary benchmarking data as well as the opportunity to be recognized in a research-backed list of companies leading the way in employee support.  

Goals of the Initiative are to:

• Recognize the companies who are most proactively activating support for their employees impacted by cancer or another serious illness
• Measure, benchmark, and inform actions that companies are taking to create a more supportive, recovery-forward workplace and reduce work-related fear and stigma
• Set the standard and provide inspiration for what other companies can do--within the realities of their size and resources--to provide best in class workplace support.

Benefits:

• Participating employers will receive custom proprietary benchmarking data highlighting their company’s strengths and opportunities to expand or initiate support. Individual data will not be shared publicly.
• Tailored recommendations from Cancer and Careers to help employers expand support in areas most meaningful to their employees and supportive of company policies.
• If qualified, employers will be recognized in the first ever Cancer and Careers Companies for Working With Cancer index, showing commitment to employees and their wellbeing. Opt-out option available.
• Indexed employers will have opportunities for press around the launch of the Index and beyond.

Key Dates:

• Survey Open: November 14, 2026
• Survey Deadline: January 23, 2026. BEYOND Insights will conduct and finalize analysis following the close of the survey

• Index Release: The 2026 Best Companies for Working With Cancer Index release is scheduled to be announced Q1 2026
• Notification: Certified companies will be notified 2 weeks prior to announcement, and marketing materials will be distributed.
• Custom Benchmarking Reports distributed to individual participating companies, March 2026

This survey has been developed and will be administered and analyzed by an independent research firm, BEYOND insights on behalf of Cancer and Careers. No individual responses will be shared with the the public.
