What do need to think about when deciding to work through treatment or not? What information do you need to make informed decisions? How do you incorporate that information into a plan of action for working after a cancer diagnosis? Have you considered your online presence? Are you aware of your options? This session will prepare you with best practices for making decisions, practical tips, understanding disclosure, and so much more.
Navigating Work: Effective On-the-Job Strategies (10:45 AM PT) - 1.25 CEs/CNEs/PDCs
There are many factors that come into focus when working through treatment. Are you required to disclose your diagnosis to your employer? What are best approaches to communicating effectively in the workplace? Are you concerned about managing side effects at work? How can you strategically plan for challenges that may arise? In this session you will be presented with practical tips, communication strategies, an overview of the ADA’s reasonable accommodations and so much more.
Looking for Work: Being a Savvy Candidate (12:45 PM PT) - 1.25 CEs/CNEs/PDCs
Looking for a new job requires being strategic, from presenting yourself to thinking about what you and need after a cancer diagnosis. In this session we will address tools and techniques for resume and cover letter writing (including addressing gaps), approaches to networking and virtual interviewing, how to address the challenges of looking for work during or after treatment, and the many additional aspects that help to prepare for a successful job search.
Nourishing Success: Balancing Nutrition, Work & Cancer (2:30 PM PT) - 1.25 CEs/CNEs/PDCs
Maintaining a balanced diet can be challenging for anyone but is also vitally important. During this session, discussion will focus on planning healthy and affordable meals, boosting immunity, managing weight, minimizing side effects, and developing strategies for eating well at work and beyond.
