Teacher has breast cancer and is being asked (TOLD) to step down from position

I work with the teacher. She is a dean in my school building. She was asked (told) to step down from her position. They were BS'ing her saying they are concerned for her health. However, they are going to put her in a more stressful position. What recourse does she have? Thank you.

Thanks for writing to us. I’m sorry to hear your co-worker is having such a difficult time at work. It sounds like her issues might be legal in nature and given that we don’t have attorneys on staff, I recommend that she checks out the National Cancer Legal Services Network - they provide listings of pro-bono legal services across the country so that she can find an organization in her area where they will be able to give her specific information about her situations.
