I was laid off after my diagnosis, so my job search has been somewhat delayed. I'm struggling to land interviews, and it's starting to feel like I need to be able to read recruiters's minds. Why am I not getting picked for an interview?

Hi Laura,
Thank you for reaching out. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been having getting called in for interviews. Unfortunately, the market is a bit tough right now, with a lot of vacancies but even more applicants. This does NOT mean it’s impossible to get a job right now, but it may mean you need to readjust your approach. Getting to the interview stage seems to be a challenge due to the sheer number of applicants so it’s important to do what you can to stick out among the crowd. I will pass along your inquiry to our career coach, but in the meantime I want to share a few resources that you may find helpful:
I hope this gives you something to work with while you wait for a response from a career coach. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to cancerandcareers@cew.org if you have any additional questions or would like more resources.
Warm regards,
