Career Change,
Career Management
Diagnosed a year ago with Multiple Myeloma and was terminated from a new job with City government as they did not provide any type of leave to those with under 6 months employment. I have been in treatment for a year and am scheduled for a stem cell transplant in a few months. I need to find work soon after recovery and am seeking the following assistance in one-on-one career coaching for remote work. Can you point me in the right direction for that assistance?

Hello Chadly,
I'm so sorry to hear about the situation with your employer - it's not uncommon for the timing to cause some challenges.
It's a great idea to start laying the foundation for employment opportunities now, so when the time comes you have a plan in place, with perhaps some backup approaches as well. I'd be happy to hop on a call with you if you think it would help! Feel free to reach out to cancerandcareers@cew.org to schedule a conversation.
Warm regards,

So I was first diagnosed with cancer on my lip about 3 years ago. Six surgeries later, last one about a year ago, which removed several spots inside my mouth, im left eating through a Gtube with no saliva glands. Possibly about to have another surgery to try to close my mouth so my tongue is not exposed. My gastrointestinal issues caused by a purely liquid diet makes showing up for a time clock virtually impossible. I used to be a Pipeline Construction Inspector. My diminished verbal abilities rules out so many opportunities. HELP. I’m 66 years old with a young family. I’ve got to figure this out. We need financial direction and help.
