Shelby Nens was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia last month after routine blood work raised a flag with her doctor. She was rushed to the hospital where she still remains, hoping to be released soon and start outpatient care.
As a result of her hospital stay, she has had to miss work at her local hardware store. "My work has been great," she said. "I’m still going to have a job when I get out of this." She plans to return to work by the end of the year.
