Alicia Turner was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2024 following earlier treatments for breast cancer in 2018 and 2023. She underwent chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, finally ringing the bell in August. She retired from teaching but plans to go back to work part time at an early learning center.
