Former Boston Red Sox player and current Lee County Commissioner has been diagnosed with medullary thyroid cancer. "As part of my recovery and to protect my immune system, I've been working from home and participating in board meetings via Zoom and over the phone," Greenwell said.

He will continue to work from home. No date has been set for his return to the office, but intends to go back as soon as he is physically able to.
