Alice Kavanagh - June 2025
Lizzie Banbury is a teacher who was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer last year. She took four months off of work for treatment but is now back. She lost her hair during treatment and wears multicolored wigs each day saying, "My wigs have raised awareness for the children at my school...I say I may have to take medication now, but just look at how much fun I’m having."
Banbury has been nominated for the ‘Against All Odds’ award at the upcoming The Press Community Pride Awards in York in the UK. "I can acknowledge and recognise that it’s all been a lot, but it’s moments like this that you find out how amazing the people in your life are."
