Alex Mitchell - May 2025
Sean Wachter was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma that had become a malignant brain tumor. While bedridden, he renewed his love of wrestling by watching the WWE and listening to related podcasts. He tried to become a wrestler in high school, but was forced to give it up by his parents. But following the conclusion of his treatment in 2022, he decided to organize a charity match raising money for the pediatric cancer patients, appearing himself under the name The Cancer Fighter. In 2024 he was approached with an opportunity from the WWE to appear at Madison Square Garden.
"The night before at 1 a.m. I went into my garage and started crying," Wachter said. "This is something I wanted since I was a little boy, and thinking about where I was nine years ago, all just hit me."
