CAC's executive director Rebecca V. Nellis was featured by Business Insider in their second article of a series called The True Cost of Young Cancer.
The article referenced findings from Cancer and Careers’ 2024 Harris Poll that reveal how nearly half of working people with cancer fear disclosing their diagnosis at work.
Rebecca also addressed the growing need for employers to adapt benefits and policies as cancer care becomes a leading cost driver for organizations. "There's the literal cost of the medical system, the loss of talent, and the loss of continuity from a productivity standpoint within a company."
The article also referenced CAC’s partnership with Publicis Groupe’s Working with Cancer program, which focuses on to companies committing to expanding workplace policies, ensuring job security and building recovery forward work cultures.
