Matt Taylor and Paul - October 2025
Caroline Palmer was diagnosed in 2023 with primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL), an "aggressive" blood cancer affecting the spinal cord and brain. Palmer was the first person in the UK to take part in a clinical trial which combined chemotherapy, immunotherapy and a stem cell transplant. The treatment caused her immune system to be vulnerable and prevented her from working. Now in remission, she's getting back to her regular life.
"I'm slowly returning to work as a teacher, helping to care for my brother who has early-onset dementia, and am feeling grateful every day that I'm alive."
