CNN News Central cohost Sara Sidner was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2023. She continued to work through treatment while undergoing months of chemo, a double mastectomy and radiation therapy. “I was trying to prove to the cancer cells that they were not going to beat me. It was like, ‘I’m going to show you what I’m capable of”  

She did take some time off to recover from reconstructive surgery and returned full time on Sept 22nd, following a 2-month break.
