Kurt Snyder - April 2024
Netti Nau was working as a nurse when she was diagnosed with cancer. Complications from surgery left her in the hospital for weeks and 35 chemo and radiation treatments made her take time off from her nursing career, as well as her hobby of running. To stay occupied during this time she started working at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store. "I had come here as a single mom to shop. I never ever dreamed how many people it takes to make things work behind the scenes. … It gave me a sense of purpose when I was really struggling."
She hopes to return to her nursing job soon, but is still gathering her strength back. Nau did recently return to her running club to complete a 5K where her teammates came back after they finished to walk her across the finish line.
