John Torenli - January 2021
Former Brooklyn Nets basketball player, Caris LeVert, was shocked when he was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. Recently traded to the Indiana Pacers, the cancer was discovered during a mandatory physical for the team. As he recovers from a successful surgery, his return to the court and new position with the Pacers is unknown.
Though he’s out of the game indefinitely, his team is inspired by his positive outlook and desire to play again.
“He’s gonna fit so perfectly whenever that is, but right now we’re not really worried about basketball with him. We want him to continue to fight through this. I think (the trade) was a real win for the organization” said his teammate, Myles Turner.
