When Paulette Leaphart was approached about a part in a secret video, she didn't know what to expect. She decided to show them the trailer for her documentary, "Scar Story" in lieu of an audition. Little did she know this would land her face to face with Beyonce.

Scar Story follows Leaphart, after her double mastectomy, on a 1,000 mile topless walk from Biloxi, Mississippi, to Washington, D.C., in order to raise breast cancer awareness. After watching the trailer, the casting director called her that night and asked her to be a part of the project, which remained a secret until she arrived on set. The video was Beyonce's 'Lemonade'. At the shoot, Beyonce came up to her to introduce herself, which Leaphart took as an opportunity to ask Beyonce to walk for a block with her, but Beyonce instead suggested a mile.

Leaphart goes on to explain, "I don't have to worry about people talking about me because I lost my hair and breats, and because I'm not what society deems sexy or beautiful...I'm free to express myself...I still think I'm beautiful and sexy. Breasts don't define me; I define me."
