After having just given birth to her first child, in April of 2015 Petra Tiziani was informed that she had cancer. Being diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer meant that she was going to be unable to continue breastfeeding. Aside from her maternal role, her professional role was interrupted as well.

The months following her diagnosis were difficult on Tiziani, as well as her partner and those close to them, but she was given the "all clear" in November of 2015. Though left with permanent peripheral neuropathy, she recognized a strong desire to reestablish some normality in her life. She was determined to go back to work and get back her sense of self. The video production work she partook in was grueling and she began to experience doubts about her ability and became completely drained of her confidence.
