Kristin Goodwillie - January 2015
Local Oregon news station recently did a piece about Canyonville bakery owner Javelin Ormond who was diagnosed with cancer in June 2014 and had to stop baking while undergoing treatment. Ormond said that when he had to stop working he became depressed, "'For five months I had done nothing but go to doctor’s appointments and been sick and fighting this fight,' said Ormond." His daughter found a local support group to Ormond to attend which helped him, and he received great support from the community and his family. This support helped Ormond get back to baking.
