Hill has an inoperable brain tumor, but did not let that deter her from following her basketball dreams.

The SF Gate shared the story of Carlos Urrutia Felix, a union carpenter whose kidney cancer diagnosis caused significant financial hardships for his family. Assistance from two local charities helped him get by until his Social Security Income was approved.

MBL.com shared the story of Al LeBoeuf, a coach in the Brewers' Minor League who has been battling cancer. Al battled through a grueling treatment and recovery, but he is back out there throwing batting practice and his story is an inspiration to the team.

The Edmonton Sun spoke with Sabres broadcaster Rick Jeanneret about his throat cancer experience, which was a particularly devastating diagnosis for him, since his voice is also his career. Jeanneret underwent radiation and chemotherapy treatments, he said that surgery would have ended his career completely.

World Tennis Magazine reported that 19 year old tennis player Vicky Duval is cancer free following chemotherapy. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in June when she was playing at Wimbledon, after reaching a career-high 87th in the world.

The Guardian wrote a powerful piece about feminist campaigner Denise Marshall's recent cancer diagnosis. She is the CEO of the feminist charity Eaves and said that she isn't going to let the inoperable cancer keep her from doing all of the work she has left to do.

Yahoo News Australia shared the story of Fiona Boyce, an Australian field hockey player who was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. She underwent treatment and has been cancer free since January, and is now focusing on fully recovering and giving back to help other cancer patients.

The New York Times reported that JPMorgan Chase‘s chief executive Jamie Dimon is now cancer free. Dimon was diagnosed with throat cancer and went public with the diagnosis in July. He continued to work throughout treatment with a modified schedule.

Pfizer recently released the findings of a study conducted in collaboration with Cancer and Careers, Supporting Workplace Conversations. The findings shed light on breast cancer in the workplace from the perspective of working women with the disease, employers and healthcare professionals.

The BBC published a great piece about the financial and career hardships that many cancer survivors face, sharing the story of one survivor and then outlining various ways for patients to prepare for the fiscal burden that often accompanies a diagnosis.

Mark Williams, the 56-year-old assistant coach for Richmond (a team of the Australian Football League) has been diagnosed with Lymphoma. "Richmond football manager Dan Richardson said Williams felt fine and wanted to continue to work, and that the club would support him through the illness," reports the Brisbane Times.

The Buffalo News reported that a local new anchor, Jacquie Walker, was diagnosed with breast cancer recently but plans on being back at work soon. The cancer was caught in early stages, and her plan is to take a few weeks off for treatment and before returning to the desk.
