Stage 2 Lymphoma, Chemo and radiation
How do you feel today?
Since the diagnosis, what has changed in your life?
I lost my hair, was fired for my job in the middle of treatment. I worked for Aegis Communications and did Medicare enrollments for United Health Care (do not care), was accused of an illegal enrollment, proved I did not do the enrollment, was fired anyways. Filed with EEOC, they took the case. Aegis will not respond. My case was removed from Mediation to Investigation. In the meantime I cannot afford my copays and bills!
What is going well for you right now?
I am still alive and believe in God!
What is not going well for you right now?
I am sick, broke, lost confidence, depressed, worried about my future! Now I have to have eae surgery, I am tired!
What has been the most challenging thing about having cancer?
Enduring the sickness, lost hair, weak, getting up everyday!
When difficulties overwhelm you, where do you go for support?
Family, friends, God, prayer!
How have your long-term goals or life goals changed since diagnosis?
I need to get strong and get back in the work force.
What is your work arrangement right now? What are your hours?
Trying to get certified to sell medicare, I need money for the leads, confidence selling again!
Since the diagnosis, what has changed in your work life?
My confidence in corporate america and the unbelievable lack of help from society!
What has helped you continue to work the most?
I really cannot answer that now!
What advice do you have for others trying to work through treatment?
Make sure you always have a large savings account and do not tell your employer you have cancer.
How have you dealt with any side effects of treatment?
Medicine, elevating head at night, being very careful what I eat etc!
If "today's you" could give advice to "day-of-diagnosis you," what would you say?
Make sure you do regular exams, eat right, pay attention to abnormal symptoms.
