Resume Building and Writing
Months after my cancer diagnosis, a new position was created at work, which split my job responsibilities in two. That new position took over my team director role, and I was told I needed to interview for that. Basically, I was interviewing to keep my job. I didn't get that "role," and was left doing more entry-level aspects of my old role. Then, my new boss gave me a new title, which reflected a clear demotion from what I had been doing. Legalities aside, how do I reflect this new title on my resume? I am no longer at that job, and for 12 years had the director role. I had the new title for about five months as I went through treatment. Do I put that title on my resume? How do I treat this? I am concerned that people will question why I went from the director role to a lesser role.
